Court Information for Circuit Courts In Missouri

In the State of Missouri, Circuit courts have original jurisdiction over all cases and matters, civil and criminal. This courts have the authority to issue and determine original remedial writs and shall sit at times and places within the circuit as determined by the circuit court.  In Missouri, the state court system is divided into circuits of contiguous counties, each of which shall be at least one circuit judge.

The Jasper County Circuit Court, located in Carthage, Missouri, is divided into eight divisions: 3 Circuit Divisions, 3 Associate Divisions, 1 Family Court Division, and 1 Probate Division.  The Circuit Courts have general jurisdiction over civil cases with any cause of action over $25,000.  The Circuit Court Judges are: Gayle L. Newton County, Missouri Circuit Court

Newton County is part of the Joplin, MO metropolitan area.  The Civil Department of the Newton County Circuit Court is located in Neosho, Missouri.  Timothy W. Perigo is the Presiding Judge.  The Civil Department of the Newton County Circuit Court is located at101 S. Wood St. – 2nd Floor, Neosho, Missouri. Newton County Circuit Court serves the cities of Joplin, Neosho.

McDonald County, Missouri Circuit Court

The McDonald County Courthouse is located in Pineville Missouri.  Timothy W. Perigo is the Presiding Judge and John LePage is the Associate Circuit Judge.  The first Tuesday of each month is Civil Motion Court Day for the county.  McDonald County is part of the Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers, Arkansas-Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area.  McDonald County Circuit Court serves the cities of Pineville and Southwest City, among others.

Barton County, Missouri Circuit Court

The Courthouse is located in Lamar, Missouri.  The Circuit Court is presided over by James R. Bickel, Circuit Judge and James V. Nichols, Associate Circuit Judge. The Court provides interpreter services for individuals who need an interpreter to facilitate communication between themselves and the court staff or in a court proceeding.  Barton County Circuit Court serves Golden City and Lamar.

Vernon County, Missouri Circuit Court

The Vernon County Circuit Court is located in Nevada, Missouri.  The Clerk’s Office is located inside the courthouse on the 2nd floor, along with the court rooms.    Carrie Poe is the Circuit Clerk.  The office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday closing from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. for lunch.   Vernon County Circuit Court serves the city of Nevada, Missouri.

Barry County, Missouri Circuit Court

Barry County is a county located in southwest Missouri, with a population of more than 35,000. Its county seat is Cassville, Missouri.  The Presiding Judge is Jack A. L. Goodman, whose office is located in Monett, Missouri. Associate Circuit Judges Johnnie E. Cox and Robert J. Foulke work out of the Cassville courthouse. Lawrence County, Missouri Circuit Court

The Lawrence County Justice Center is home to the Lawrence County Circuit Court, located in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. Jack A. L. Goodman is also the Presiding Judge Lawrence County. Scott S. Greene County, Missouri Circuit Court

The Greene County Consolidated Circuit Courts, located in Springfield, Missouri, are divided in 17 divisions.  There are 5 Circuit Courts, 6 Associate Courts, 4 Family Courts, 1 Drug Court, and 1Probate Court).  The Circuit Courts have general jurisdiction over civil cases with any cause of action over $25,000, criminal felony cases that are transferred from the Associate Court, Juvenile cases, Domestic cases, and oversee Family, Drug, and Probate Courts.  Thomas R. Barr is the elected Circuit Clerk for Greene County. Springfield, the County Seat, is the third largest city in the state of Missouri.

Taney County, Missouri Circuit Court

The Taney County Courthouse is located in Forsyth, Missoui.  The new Judicial Facility is located at 266 Main Street Forsyth, Missouri, about 1 block south of the Courthouse.  The Clerk’s office is open Monday – Friday 8:00 – 5:00. The Court has two divisions. Laura Johnson is the presiding Circuit Judge and Tony Williams and Eric D. Eighmy are the Associate Circuit Judges.  Forsyth, the County Seat, is a popular vacation destination on the shores of Lake Taneycomo and Bull Shoals Lake in southwestern Missouri.
